I am a dad. I work an average of 40 hours a week and I love being home. When I am home, either from a day at work or on the weekend, my two kids and wife are always there. My wife is a stay at home mom, which is awesome, but I could probably count on my two hands the amount of times I have had to watch the kids by my self. I have even caught myself answering the phone on these rare days and telling people that my wife in not here and that I was babysitting. Babysitting, as If I am watching someone elses' kids.Luckily I had lots of resources for ideas so having fun with the kids on a budget was never a problem. Before the days of in-home computers, we had the library, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School curriculum and the occasional leftover worksheets and coloring pages from classrooms at years end. Crayons, scissors and paste went a long way back then.Pink: 4-5 beets, cut up. Orange: yellow onions skins (use very little water); 10 carrots. Red: red onion skins (use very little water); pureed red tomatoes (use less water). Green: spinach, large bunch fresh, or frozen. Greenish yellow: yellow Delicious apple peels. Brown: make a pot of strong coffee and use instead of water; black walnut shells. Yellow: carrot tops; celery seed; green tea. Blue: red cabbage leaves. If you want to see if it the color you choose works for you in reality, one tip is to just streak or highlight your hair, and see how that turns out. Another idea is to use a semi-permanent dye. If the color is not what you were expecting you can actually wash it out providing you get to it within the first 48 hours. Of course, it might take a few washes to get it all out, but washing it will definitely reduce the brightness of the color.
